What is the 'Backyard Project'?

In 2021 Kenvale College celebrated its Golden Anniversary - 50 years delivering quality training and education in the Hospitality, Cookery and Events sector.

With a reputation built on this legacy of success, we are collaborating with our prestigious industry partners to launch the Backyard Project  to rebuild the industry.

The Backyard Project primarily seeks to attract prospective students at a “grass roots” level to the industry and forms part of the domestic recruitment strategy. The Backyard Project will be the first of many activities that fall under the fundraising arm of the College: “Foundation 100”.

Kenvale has identified the need to actively “reach out” to those in our own backyard first; both metropolitan and regional New South Wales. The opportunity exists for Kenvale and our industry partners to work together to drive this re-engagement and proactive recruitment of hospitality staff.

Leveraging on our legacy of delivering quality training and skilled graduates with a 100% employment rate, we believe we have a responsibility to take a leadership role. We are committed to working alongside our high calibre industry partners to take steps to restore confidence in the hospitality sector, as well as endorsing the fact that hospitality is a valuable career option that can open up endless local and international opportunities for those that have the drive and passion for them.
