Why Kenvale as a partner in your Aged Care Journey?

Why is Kenvale offering Aged Care?

There are several reasons why Kenvale have added Aged Care to Kenvale's scope after 50 years delivering Hospitality Courses:

  • Kenvale believes respect for the human dignity of each person is key for the provision of excellent and genuine care for our most vulnerable people in society and fostering meaning personal development through aged and disability care work..
  • Accordingly, Kenvale advocates that training for care workers should not only be framed as the acquisition of practical and technical skill but should also include learnings about the uniqueness of every human being, empathy and the implications of this for personal care work.

Kenvale’s Aged Care program

Kenvale took the strategic decision to commence delivering a CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) qualification to focus on developing and providing vocational and academic preparation for the Aged Care Sector.

Kenvale believes that respect for the human dignity of each person, is key for the provision of excellent training and a genuine quality of service in aged care. Kenvale’s aim for students, is to foster meaning and personal development for their future work placements, opportunities and job outcomes, as Personal Care Workers.

Following the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care, both State and Federal Governments have taken into account the need to attract sufficient aged care staff with the appropriate skills and qualifications.

A reward for diversity and multiculturalism in Australia

The Smart and Skilled funding options are particularly important for mature workers who maybe looking for work or a change of career and we especially encourage people from a multi cultural background.

In the May 2021 Budget, the Federal Government committed nearly $340m to support training for the aged care sector including:

  • Home Care support program to attract 13,000 Personal Care Workers (PCW)
  • Programs with Job Actives (Employment Agencies) to attract 5,000 PCWs
  • Funds to train and fill 33,800 additional training places for PCWs
  • Increased funding ($49.4m) for up-skilling of the existing aged care workforce (full qualifications, short courses etc)
  • Most of this funding will be allocated to the States for RTO’s and related service providers who have existing State funding contracts, like Kenvale, and there is a limited number of these providers in NSW (around 150 RTOs only delivering Cert III in individual Support (Ageing))

If you are unemployed we hope to grant you up to $6000 (NSW unemployment funding).
